I first started making functional pottery at the age of 19, about a year and a half after I moved to the United States. Without knowing, it was a way for me to be home.
Clay is the stuff of my Ancestors.
Earth, mixed with water, shaped by hand, carved by wood and metal, made smooth by stone, dried by air, transformed by fire. After all this, you have something beautiful that you can use every day to hold things that are important. I love both the process and the results of working with clay.
